EKANTOR.PL BATTLE OF EUROPE - QUALIFICATION

Rules of recording Qualifier WOD:

- Prior to the workout an athlete must introduce himself/herself by giving one's name, surname and a category in which one is taking part and qualifier WOD number.

- Prior to the workout the barbell (its weight) and the load on it must be clearly shown, box height must be measured, target height for wall balls must be clearly measured as well (with a measuring tape, not with a ruler)

- the camera must be situated so that judges don't have any doubts about the standards of the performed repetitions, otherwise the repetitions will not be counted.

- Timer must be visible throughout the whole recording (it can be a timer in an application on a mobile phone)

- Film should be recorded in good resolution and quality which will enable the judgement without any disruption and doubts.

- Film must be recorded in one continuous file so make sure the batteries in your recording devices are charged.

- Post your recording on YouTube with a proper name: your name and surname, competition name, category and WOD number eg. John Smith, Ekantor.pl Battle of Europe, ELITE MEN, WOD Q18.1.

- post the link to your recording on YouTube at Athletes Zone website and declare your result

In case of any trouble, argument or complaints about issues not described above during the qualification stage, please contact us.

Remarks to WOD Q18.1 (what you must pay attention to):

  1. While ROWING after the whole round the camera must show the calories result and the athlete and the timer may not be visible on the screen at that moment.
  2. The meter of a rower can be reset by another person or an athelete.
  3. In case when there are permanent WBS targets in your box on the walls or on the gates, their height must be shown in the clip anyway.
  4. Every switch of an athlete must be performed by "high five" - lack of "high five" at the switch of the athletes = reps after the switch don't count (also applies to weights)
  5. Thrusters must be performed on @20kg barbell and all the weights in TEAMS M+M category is @60kg
  6. Every "no rep" means 7s penalty

ROW:

- Prior to starting the movement, an athlete remains seated on a rower with his knees fully extended and does not grab the handle of the rower

- At the call of “3,2,1 start”, the athlete starts the movement

- The monitor on the rower must be set to zero at the beginning of each row

WBS:

- Prior to workout, target height must be measured: 3 metres for Men and 2,7 metres for Women 

- Start from a position in which the ball is on the ground

- An athlete approaching the ball has to lift it from the ground, stand with hip joints fully extended and next perform a full squat and throw the ball to the marked target

- the hip must descend below the knees line

- The ball must reach the target. If the ball doesn't reach the target or doesn't touch the wall, it is no rep.

- Movement must be performed smoothly from a squat to a throw of the ball.

DU:

- For each jump the rope must pass under the feet twice.

THRUSTER:

- In the initial position the barbell touches the ground with both plates.

- first rep can be performed by squat clean

- In the squat phase the hips must descend below the knees line

- In the final phase the barbell must be over the head with knees, hips and elbows fully extended and locked.

Remarks to WOD Q18.2 (what you must pay attention to):

  1. Men perform power snatch at 20kg barbell, and Women at 15kg barbell
  2. Every switch of an athlete must be performed by "high five" - lack of "high five" at the switch of the athletes = reps after the switch don't count (also applies to weights)

Standards to each exercises and rules of recording Qualifier WOD:

Burpee Bar Muscle Up

  • Start the movement standing with knees and hips joints fully extended.
  • In the first phase of the movement go down and lie on the ground with three contact points – feet, hips and chest.
  • In the second phase of the movement, go up by jumping both feet to your hands at the same time.
  • Next perform Bar Muscle Up.
  • Begin hanging on the bar with elbows fully extended.
  • Perform smooth movement to get on top of the bar.
  • Finish the movement with elbow joints fully extended and shoulders passing the bar.

Burpee Chest to Bar:

  • Start the movement standing with knees and hips joints fully extended.
  • In the first phase of the movement go down and lie on the ground with three contact points – feet, hips and chest.
  • In the second phase of the movement, go up by jumping both feet to your hands at the same time.
  • Next perform Chest to Bar.
  • Begin hanging on the bar with elbow joints fully extended.
  • In the final phase of the movement chest must touch the bar.

Power Snatch:

  • In the initial position the barbell must touch the ground with both plates.
  • Power snatch the barbell with a smooth movement.
  • In the final position the barbell must by over the bodyline with knees, hips and elbow joints fully extended and locked. The barbell must be positioned over the heels.

WOD Q18.3.

The Qualifier WOD Q18.3. is here! It consists of two parts which are separately scored!

For individual categories is:

part A - set of 15-12-9 repetitions of Thrusters, Toes to Bars and Jumps over the box. Time cap for part A is 5 minutes and after this time elapses, part B can be performed. In part B an athlete has 5 minutes to find maximum repetition of Clean & Jerk. Each attempt must be preceded by 5 repetitions of Bar facing Burpee. There is no break between parts A and B.

For TEAMS M+M category is:

part A - set 50-40-30 repetitions of Toes to Bar, Jump Over the box and Kettlebell Swings. After each round the athletes perform 15 synchronic Goblet Squats. Time cap for part A is 12 minutes.  The athletes have 7 minutes to find maximum repetition in Clean & Jerk each! The result of part B is a total of maximum repetitions of both athletes. In teams athletes switch by high five. There is no break between parts A and B.

Thruster:

- In the final phase the barbell must be over the head with knees, hips and elbows fully extended and locked.

T2B:

- Begin the movement hanging on the bar with elbow joints fully extended

- in every repetition an athlete must touch the bar with both feet either with the top or the tip

- in the extension phase the feet must be brought backwards beyond the bar line.

Jump over the box:

- in the initial position both feet touch the ground

- an athlete must jump to the other side of the box - it can be performed by jumping on the box or jumping over the box

- frontal or lateral jumps are allowed

- jump must be performed with both feet at the same time

- full body extension on top is not required

Kb swing:

- Begin the movement from straight upright position with the kettlebell lying on the ground

- in the first phase of the swing the kettlebell must pass the heels line

- in the final phase the kettlebell must pass the chin line of the athlete, hips and knees must be extended and locked.

Goblet squat:

- squats must be performed synchronously

- in the squat phase the hips must descend below the knees line

- n the final phase the hips and knees joints must be extended and locked at the same time at both athletes

- if any of the athletes reaches one of the above phases faster, he needs to wait for the other athlete to reach the same position.

Bar facing burpee:

- Begin the movement standing straight upright with knees and hips fully extended

- in the first phase of the movement an athlete goes down to the ground facing the bar and lies down – there must be three contact points with the ground – feet, hips and chest

- in the second phase go up by jumping your feet to your hands at the same time and perform a frontal jump with both feet over the bar

- first prepare the bar with plates for C&J and then perform bar facing burpees

C&J:

- Before starting part B, the barbell must be empty

- In the initial position the barbell must touch the ground with both plates

- the movement must be performed by squat clean

- The jerk can be performed either by jerk or split jerk

- in the final position knees, hips and elbow joints must be extended and locked

- the barbell must be positioned over the heels line

- bar clips must be used to secure the plates.
